Jumble Symposium
To celebrate Jumble's 65th Year, the David L. Hoyt Education Foundation is hosting the 4th Annual Jumble Symposium on Saturday, May 4, 2019, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chicago Literacy Alliance (641 W Lake St. #200).Doors will open at 10:30 and refreshments will be available. Programming will begin at 11:00 a.m. for in-person and online viewers.In addition to meeting Jumble creators Hoyt and Knurek, attendees of the Jumble Symposium will compete in a race against Paul Lockwood, 3-time reigning Jumble Champion, in the Mega and Triple Jumble Puzzles created especially for this challenge!Attendees will also have an opportunity to compete for the chance to have their Jumble idea published in newspapers by submitting it to organizers by May 3rd, 2019 by 5:00 p.m. CT. Of those submitted, 10 will be selected by Hoyt and Knurek. The favorite of those 10 Jumbles will be voted on by attendees both online and in-person during the event. The Jumble that receives the most votes will be created on-the-spot by Hoyt and Knurek.“Jeff and I are looking forward to sharing our Jumble stories with some of our Chicagoland Jumble solvers and are equally excited about including a national online audience in the fun this year.” - David L. Hoyt Education Foundation website (www.davidlhoytfoundation.org/jumble-symposium.html).A link to the online viewing will be provided once tickets are purchased.All tickets include the opportunity to submit your Jumble idea, but only those who buy tickets to attend in person will be able to compete against Paul Lockwood in the Jumble Championship.All proceeds to be donated to the David L.
