Eight Car Service to Begin on Brown Line with Next Phase of Three-Track

Merchants and professionals of all types have served customers in Lincoln Square since the area was settled around the turn of the century. What Lincoln Square's business owners have in common is that they provide an extra level of personal service that is becoming rarer these days. Here's an opportunity to learn a little more about the business owners behind the places you patronize. Each month, we include a story about a Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce member, describing their business, a little bit about their lives and what brought them to where they are today. The story appears on the Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce website and in the newsletter. Be sure to read more about our July 2008 - Member of the Month, Penn Dutchman Antiques.

Nearly all of Lincoln Square is located in the 47th Ward of the City of Chicago. Visit 47th Ward Alderman Gene Schulter's website www.ward47.org for timely information regarding area news and important community notices. Alderman Schulter's website is updated regularly and includes many community links of interest.

Chicago is a city defined by its neighborhoods, and Lincoln Square is one of its most vibrant. Located in the heart of Chicago's North Side, Lincoln Square conveniently connects with the city's major thoroughfares and public transit, including the CTA Brown Line, the Metra Union Pacific North Line, Western, Lawrence, Lincoln, Montrose and Foster Avenues. About 40,000 residents from cultures around the world live side by side on Lincoln Square's tree-lined streets and patronize its mixture of independent and one of a kind businesses. Since the area was developed a century ago, Lincoln Square has been a desirable neighborhood to live, work and enjoy life.
Explore this website if you'd like to get to know the Lincoln Square neighborhood and its businesses a little better. Since 1948, business owners in Lincoln Square have united through an independent Chamber of Commerce. Today's Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce works diligently to maintain the vital connections between the community and the businesses that serve it. We provide this website to our members, as well as Lincoln Square's neighbors and visitors as a guide to the rich tapestry of culture that the area has to offer.
