DESCRIPTION:A pajaki is a beautiful and charming Old-World folk art that has been reinterpreted and transformed into a contemporary piece of d cor. There is a Polish expression: blessed is the home with a spider web in it. Traditionally pajaki (pronounced Pie-Yonky)\, which translates to spider of straw\, is a hanging decoration for health\, happiness and luck. It's lavishly decorated with paper flowers\, felt and other found objects. At this retreat\, participants will create their own pajaki chandelier. While traditional Pajakis are full of color\, there are others done in neutrals and even pastels and you will be given the tools and guidance to focus on constructing and decorating your pajaki to match your own vision. So whether its full of bright colors or more subdued lets bring some old-world well wishes and good luck into our homes this season!\n\n	At this retreat you will:\n\n	- Learn basic elements of design through color\, texture and composition\n\n	- Create your own contemporary version of Old-World folk art\n\n	- Build and construct decor with the simplest of materials\n\n	- Relax and re-charge in a positive creative environment\n\n	Skill level: No experience needed\n\n	Materials list: Optional - please bring various paper scraps\, tissue paper\, felt balls\, ribbon\, upholstery thread and decorative paper punches.
