DESCRIPTION:Come celebrate this captivating mosaic from the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition with the DANK Haus on August 24th at 7 PM. The Glory of Germania mosaic is 18 ft x 12 ft with over 1\,000 individual tiles. Hear introductory remarks from our collections manager and a keynote speaker. Refreshments and prints of the mosaic will be available for purchase.\n\n\n\nNote: Advanced registration is required. See the URL below to register online. All registrants will receive a free Glory of Germania postcard at the event!\n\n\n\nFree parking is available in the MB Financial Bank lot after 5 pm (entrance on Western and Gunnison)\n\n\n\nWe are pleased to welcome Dr. Diane Dillon as the keynote speaker at the reception. Dr. Dillon is the Director of Exhibitions and Major Projects at the Newberry Library and an expert on world's fairs. We will welcome Dr. Reinhard Andress (Loyola University) as well who will present historical material uncovered in the manufacturer's archive in Berlin.
