In the US\, she has appeared in Weill and Zankel Recital Halls at Carnegie\; Alice Tully Hall\, Merkin and Steinway halls in NYC\; Kennedy Center and The Smithsonian in Washington\; and live on WQXR New York\, WFMT Chicago and WETA Washington. Ms. Stepanova has twice been a soloist with the Juilliard Orchestra led by James DePreist and Nicholas McGegan. Ms. Stepanova was a top prizewinner at the Liszt-Garrison\, Juilliard Concerto\, Steinway\, and Ettlingen competitions. As a member of the Lysander Piano Trio\, she won the 2012 Concert Artists Guild Competition and received the Grand Prize at the 2011 Coleman Competition. Upcoming engagements for the Trio include debut recitals at Carnegie Weill and Merkin recital halls in NYC\, performances on prestigious concert series at Purdue University and Rockford Coronado Concerts as well as a release of a debut CD. Deeply committed to new music\, Ms. Stepanova has performed with AXIOM\, New Juilliard\, and Mimesis ensembles\, and worked with composers John Adams\, John Harbison and Steve Reich. She studied Art Song with Wolfram Rieger\, Margo Garrett\, and Brian Zeger\, and was invited by the late Dietrich Fischer- Dieskau to perform in several of his workshops. Ms. Stepanova performed as a soloist and chamber musician at the international festivals at Castleton\, La Jolla\, Music@Menlo and Davos (Switzerland)\, and has been on the faculty at SongFest at the Colburn School in Los Angeles since 2011. She received her DMA from The Juilliard School in 2012 with a Richard F. French Award for an outstanding dissertation. Previously a graduate of the Hanns Eisler Academy in Berlin\, Germany\, she studied with George Sava\, Jerome Lowenthal\, Seymour Lipkin\, and Joseph Kalichstein\, and performed in masterclasses for Alfred Brendel\, Daniel Barenboim and Andras Schiff. Ms. Stepanova has been on the Juilliard faculty since the fall of 2012.\n\n\n\nAbout Madeleine Kabat\n\n\n\nFollowing her solo debut with the Cleveland Orchestra at age 18\, cellist MADELEINE KABAT has been featured as soloist with most recently the Gulf Coast Symphony (MS)\, Minot Symphony (ND)\, Red de Escuelas de Musica Orquesta (in Medellin\, Colombia)\, Cleveland State University Orchestra\, Oberlin Sinfonietta\, Cleveland Philharmonic (OH)\, Spoleto Festival Orchestra (SC)\, Festival Mozaic Orchestra (CA)\, Springfield Symphony (MO) and Marin Symphony (CA). She made her solo debut at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC last year\, and recently stepped in for delayed cello soloist Alban Gerhardt on a few hours notice to rehearse Prokofiev's Symphony-Concerto with the Madison Symphony. Ms. Kabat is also a prizewinner of international\n\ncompetitions including Hellam\, Klein\, and Fischoff. Last summer\, Madeleine appeared as a guest artist at the Bravo! Vail festival in Colorado\, the International Chamber Music Festival in Lima\, Peru\, the International Beethoven Project in Chicago\, and for a fourth season at Festival Mozaic in California. She has given masterclasses at Festicamara as well as at the University of Wisconsin\n\nat Steven's Point\, Minot State University (ND)\, and at La Jolla's SummerFest\, and appears frequently as a guest artist at La Sierra University in California and Festicamara in Colombia\, South America. Also an active orchestral musician\, Ms. Kabat currently performs as substitute cellist for the Cleveland Orchestra and Milwaukee Symphony. She has performed with the Houston Symphony and Orpheus Chamber Orchestra\, and made appearances as guest principal cellist this year with the Beethoven Festival Orchestra in Chicago and the Philharmonia Mexico in Mexico City. Ms. Kabat began cello lessons in Cleveland at age 11\, and holds diplomas from the Cleveland Institute of Music\, Rice University\, the Juilliard School\, and most recently Oberlin Conservatory\, where she was a teaching assistant for Darrett Adkins.
