Join Us Chicago for a female friendly afternoon full of art, poetry, and performances from local Chicago artists held at The Awakenings Foundation gallery on May 18, 2013. Both females and males are invited to come and experience the gallery, take in the performances, and enjoy complimentary drinks and appetizers.
Chicago Women’s Day is a way to honor the amazing impact that females have on our community, and to celebrate their many successes in art, literature, and life. The event is being held at The Awakenings Foundation, the only art gallery in the city of Chicago that houses artwork created by sexual abuse survivors. A powerful and emotionally charged exhibit that will bring awareness to the issue of sexual violence, something that as many as 1 in 3 females are facing. This year’s event will include a mini wine tasting, appetizers, poetry, and musical performances, all with the female in mind.
