Long-Delayed Ravenswood Metra Station Renovation Could Be Done By Spring

Construction of the western side of the Ravenswood station was completed in 2015. Work on the eastern platform has been delayed multiple times.

RAVENSWOOD — The Ravenswood Metra overhaul that began more than a decade ago might be nearing the finish line.

The eastern, or inbound, platform of the station at 4800 N. Ravenswood Ave. could reopen by late winter or early spring, Metra spokesman Michael Gillis said. 

The renovation includes longer and covered platforms, warming shelters, new lights, space for a ticket office, vendor space, stairs and American with Disabilities Act-compliant ramps. Read more HERE
