    Who we are

    Lawrence Hall is a Chicago-based nonprofit social services agency that provides therapeutic, wellness, and skill development services to youth, families, and neighborhoods affected by lasting trauma.

    Our Child and Family Treatment Center (CFTC) is a 24-hour residential treatment center that provides compassionate care and individualized treatment plans for young people experiencing emotional challenges and complex trauma. We take a family-focused, outcomes-driven approach that helps them find emotional balance, develop coping skills and learn how to form healthy relationships. After joining the program, over 86% of kids are able to successfully return to their families or find new homes to thrive in.

    About the Role

    Lead a team and shape the daily experience of youth in a trauma-informed environment. As a Residential Youth Unit Coordinator, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of a unit in the CFTC, ensuring that youth receive high-quality, individualized care. You'll supervise staff, coordinate treatment plans, and maintain a safe, supportive, and structured milieu where youth can grow, learn, and thrive. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on leadership, mentoring staff, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of young people.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Oversee unit operations, including staff supervision, treatment coordination, budgets, and supplies.
    • Ensure treatment plans are implemented effectively and consistently, using trauma-informed, youth-centered approaches.
    • Lead staff development through coaching, training, reflective supervision, and performance management.
    • Monitor safety protocols, conduct unit rounds, and respond to crises as needed.
    • Collaborate with internal teams, families, and community partners to support youth development and engagement.
    • Participate in hiring, staff evaluations, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance program outcomes.

    Who we're looking for

    Required:

    • At least 25 years of age
    • High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of related experience working with youth, including supervision and crisis management
    • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
    • Valid Illinois driver's license

    Preferred:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Experience managing residential units or coordinating treatment teams.
    • Personal vehicle preferred and proof of insurance

    Additional Information

    This is a full-time on-site role at our Child and Family Treatment Center, based out of our Francisco campus at 4833 N Francisco Ave, Chicago, IL 60625 for the 2nd shift: 1:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m., five days per week, including weekends. Flexibility required to maintain youth safety, staff coverage, and on-call availability.

    Compensation and Benefits

    • Hourly rate of $21.54-$24/hour, based on experience.
