Laternenfest & St. Martin's Parade
The German International School cordially invites you to the Annual Laternenfest & St. Martin's Parade at the German International School Chicago on Saturday, November 9, 2019, from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm.Children of all ages are welcome to this fun-filled fall celebration. In Europe, "Laternenfest" (lantern fest) is a festival where children walk through their towns with lighted lanterns on the eve of St. Martin's Day ("Martinstag").GISC's Chicago celebration will start with lantern making and "Kaffee & Kuchen" (coffee & cake) at GISC in the afternoon, followed by a lantern parade with live music at dusk, and more entertainment and German-style dinner in the evening.Tickets for adults and children ages 3+: $13 entry, or $20 entry including a discounted German-style dinner ticket. Children 2 and under receive free admission.Admission includes a lantern kit that children can use to personalize their own lanterns a lantern parade with live music at dusk, entertainment, and lots of fun!Face-painting as well as food and drinks will be available for purchase at the event (concession tickets are available for pre-purchase during online registration and at the event).Please note that pictures will be taken at the event and may be published on the GISC website and social media and/or used for our school's marketing.Laternenfest has sold out seven years in a row and space is again limited this year, so please make sure to get your tickets now before they sell out.Laternenfest & St. Martin's ParadeDate and Time
