Position OverviewThe General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and day-to-day operations of Piccadilly Pub. This role works closely with the Director of Operations and ownership to ensure strong financial results, operational excellence, and a positive workplace culture.
While there is a dedicated Market Manager, the Pub GM serves as the primary point of contact for all building-related needs, including maintenance, safety, and compliance. The GM is also expected to collaborate closely with the Market Beverage Buyer on cross-promotional initiatives that benefit both concepts.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management- Lead all Pub staff, including FOH and BOH managers, bartenders, and service staff.
- Directly oversee and manage the Bar Manager, holding them accountable for all beverage-related responsibilities.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and develop Pub team members.
- Foster a culture of accountability, hospitality, and teamwork.
- Conduct regular performance check-ins, coaching, and reviews.
- Oversee labor management, scheduling, and payroll approvals.
- Oversee all day-to-day Pub operations to ensure smooth service and excellent guest experiences.
- Maintain high standards for hospitality, cleanliness, and service consistency.
- Captain and run the floor as an active operational team member.
- Address guest feedback and resolve issues with professionalism and urgency.
- Ensure strong execution of food and beverage menus in collaboration with culinary leadership and the Bar Manager.
- Develop, implement, and refine systems and SOPs to streamline Pub operations.
- Oversee and assist with the Bar Manager’s execution of:
- Beverage purchasing and product sourcing
- Pricing strategy and menu development
- COGS management and inventory controls
- Specials, programming, and seasonal offerings
- Ensure beverage menus, pricing, and programming align with financial goals and brand standards.
- Partner with the Bar Manager on beverage-driven events and promotions that increase traffic and revenue.
- Work directly with the Director of Operations and ownership on budgeting, forecasting, and performance goals.
- Manage the Pub P&L with a strong focus on labor, COGS, and profitability.
- Monitor key performance metrics and adjust operations as needed.
- Support marketing initiatives, events, and promotions to drive sales.
- Serve as the main point of contact for all building-related needs, including:
- Maintenance coordination and basic handiwork oversight
- Vendor communication related to facilities
- Site safety and cleanliness standards
- Partner with the culinary management team to ensure health department compliance and food safety standards.
- Ensure all operational practices meet local, state, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with the Market Beverage Buyer on cross-promotional deals, shared events, and programming opportunities.
- Maintain open communication with Market leadership to ensure alignment across the building.
- Support initiatives that enhance the guest experience across both the Pub and Market while respecting operational boundaries.
- 4+ years of restaurant or bar management experience; General Manager experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of bar-focused operations and beverage-driven revenue.
- Proven ability to lead managers and hold teams accountable.
- Experience managing labor, COGS, and P&L performance.
- Comfortable overseeing facilities, maintenance needs, and compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
