Event at Ravenswood Community Services

The fourth annual HUNGER ROCK! concert to benefit Ravenswood Community Services? outreach to hungry people in the Uptown and Ravenswood neighborhoods is on tap for Saturday, October 16 at 7 p.m. at 1757 West Wilson Avenue (the parish hall at All Saints? Church). Tickets are now available online at www.ravenswoodcommunityservices.org. General admission tickets are $25; $50 tickets include two drink tickets, a ?swag bag? full of goodies and the joy of giving a little extra. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door that evening.

HUNGER ROCK! 2010 features concerts by Underwater People, Sunnyside Up and Anne-Marie Akin?s Mighty Find Band. The planned festivities also include fantastic food and beverages, a silent auction and a ?Life Auction,? where bidders will underwrite the costs to provide nutritionally balanced meals and full grocery bags for hungry neighbors.

Ravenswood Community Services (RCS) provides hunger and poverty relief, health services, and life skills education in the Ravenswood and Uptown neighborhoods. In 1993, RCS began handing out bags of groceries to about 20 neighbors through the front doors of All Saints? Church. Today, this vibrant non-profit serves hundreds of hungry neighbors each week and implements strategic neighborhood change through our feeding programs and through our partnership with Ravenswood School. www.ravenswoodcommunityservices.org
