Retail Sales Associate for Online Sales & Street Festivals

Job Overview

We’re looking for an energetic, reliable Sales Person/Brand Ambassador focused on selling our products and bringing our story to life on social media platforms as well as at festivals in the Chicagoland area.

In this role, you will be representing our brand and values, providing an exceptional customer experience and driving both online and in-person sales. Our team members utilize individuality, personal motivation, effective communication and strong product knowledge to fulfill sales and create online presence. The ideal candidate will be independently driven, have a passion for helping customers find the right products to suit their style and excel at building excitement for sustainable fashion and social impact.

What You’ll Do:

There are two very distinct parts of this position. First, for the social live sales:

• Represent Ecodunia’s mission of eco-conscious, fair-trade craftsmanship with pride
• Join us in content shoots (video and/or photo) in Chicago
• Share or create short videos about your favorite Ecodunia pieces
• Tell the stories behind our bags and the impact of Fair Trade
• Be featured on our website, Instagram, and TikTok
• Option to create content independently if you’re remote or traveling

Second, for the in-person events:

• Set up and tear down tents, tables, signage, and product displays at (primarily) outdoor events
• Load and unload inventory and supplies
• Greet customers, engage them warmly, and confidently close sales
• Process sales through a mobile POS system (Shopify)
• Maintain a clean, organized, visually appealing booth
• Keep an accurate cash and inventory log at each event

What We’re Looking For:

• Reliable, honest, organized, and committed — you show up and follow through
• Friendly, outgoing, and enthusiastic — you enjoy selling and talking to customers
• Comfortable with mobile devices for processing sales and creating content
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Physically able to lift and carry tents, bins, and equipment
• Flexibility
• Able to work outdoors in all conditions (rain or shine)

Preferred but not required:

• Valid driver’s license and a care are a PLUS
• Previous experience in live sales, retail, events, farmers markets, or festival sales
• Having a small but engaged social following or strong content creation skills is a plus

? Schedule & Pay:

• Pay: $17.50hr and bonuses for exceptional sales performance
• Summer season (now- October): average 3 weekdays for content creation and Friday, Saturday and Sunday availability for markets
• Winter/Holiday markets (Nov-Dec): Expanded availability Monday–Sunday
• Typical shift: 4–8 hours, sometimes shorter or longer depending on type and location of shift
• Paid training

• This is an independent contractor role
• You will commit to specific events in advance. (Once confirmed, you are expected to attend.)
• You’ll have the flexibility to accept only the events that fit your schedule
• This role includes both shifts at our office for online live sales as well as sales at events
